Captain Chesley “Sully” Sullenberger, commercial airline pilot, who piloted a distressed passenger plane to safety onto the Hudson River in New York City, signs a copy of his new book for Gunnery Sgt. Sean Smothers, imagery analysis specialist, 1st Intelligence Battalion, 1st Marine Expeditionary Force, at Camp Pendleton’s Country Store, Feb. 25. Sullenberger talked to Marines, sailors and family members and signed copies of his new book, “Highest Duty: My Search for What Really Matters,” that recounts his life as a pilot and describes the onslaught of sudden celebrity after making an emergency landing where all the passengers survived Jan. 15, 2009.
